“Mercado do Livramento, Setubal. A foodie’s heaven! The market was so clean that neither James nor I have been to a fish market that does not smell before this. I have taken pictures of their marble counters and their drainage to admire their dedication to cleanliness. The variety of fish, meat, cheese, vegetables, baked goods including doilies, tablecloth were all under one roof. People were very friendly, had no problems with my nosiness…no stare or bad comments…a must visit for anyone that goes to Lisbon!”
“You will not miss this place if you visit Setúbal, as it is the very center, where the city hall is located. In the middle, you’ll find a statue of Setúbal’s famous poet, Bocage. You can also admire here a good example of the beautiful Portuguese cobblestone. Take the opportunity to sit in one of the cafes there enjoying the sun, before you roam a bit more through the central typical streets and shops.”
